ONE OF MY UNDERSEAT COILS HAS CRACKED RECENTLY 2 inches long underside
cannot tell if it goes all the way through the imitation bakelite substance yam calls plastic or it is surface

OHM STILL READING 3.6 At 20 degrees celcius 70f

fed up spending money at this point silicone it and pray?

or slap down smokin visa card at yam and shield my eyes from the glint of the dealer's gold tooth?

Hello,

Seems that your (primary side) resistance is ok. I had two coils with some cracks and used hot glue to fix the problem. Worked fine.

As far as they can be used, there is no reason to buy new ones.

Thanks guys

i am going to give sealing the crack a shot

if it does not work it is fairly easy to swap out rear coil for a new one

I used High temp black rtv that stays semiflexible after it dries and is oil resistant. I had cracks in all four and I haven't had a problem with mine.
