COPs Mod - Need Stock Coil Wires

I am going to do the COPs mod but want to use the stock coil connectors instead of individual added-on connectors. Anyone have a bad set of coils or the 4 connectors? Don't need the coils, just the connectors and the wiring to the coil. I know this is a long shot, but if you have these items...

COPs or New Boots / Wire?

I am having trouble deciding how to update my plug wiring. I need to be confident I can take long trips without being stranded and just haven't been able to get there after reading every post on COPs. No one seems to have taken a long trip yet (I have taken 3 trips of 3500 miles in 7 days each...

    Rubber covers for COPs

I was looking for rubber elbow caps to go over the junction of the coil top and where the cable plugs in. This would be both for waterproofing and appearance. Any ideas?

    COPs Question

I just bought some COPs off eBay for a 2003-2004 R1. According to the list below, these should be Denso COPs. (List states 2002-2008 R1 COPs are Densos). ***** "So far, i've run across two types of DENSO COPs. The type that the Hayabusa/GSXR's use work very well. There is another type that is...

    Questions about Installing COPs

I just received R1 COPs and harness in the mail today from Ebay. The coils look really clean and the harness is in pretty decent shape as well. However, notice from my picture how short the lines are. Once I pulled all the electrical tape and wire wrap off I found that the red leads from all the...

    R1 COPs Installation

Just bought some R1 COPs off eBay. Think they are 2004 or 2005. Have read all the posts I could find about this mod but am wondering if anyone has installed these specific COPs on their Max. Has anyone posted instructions for these? Couldn't find any. If you have installed these, are there any...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt5

On the left-hand side, I made sure that the COP wiring (arrowed) was in front of the V-boost servo, so it wouldn't get in the way of the V-boost cable or cam movement: the wiring is routed through the opening in the heat shield (arrowed) that the HT lead used to go through: Now the left...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt4

Ok so back to fitting the COPs, finally. Here are the front wires prepared - notice that the #4 wire has to be longer to reach down to the right-hand cylinder from the connector on the left which is pretty close to the main harness: Here's #4 connected... ...all taped up... ...and fed...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt3

To remove the front coils, the only way to access all four coil mounting screws is to move the bracket that hold the CDI, ignition vacuum advance unit and V-boost servo. Here's a full view of it; the blue arrows shows the #4 coil screws, and the red arrows show the bracket mounting screws (x4)...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt2

As I went to do the front COPs, I thought there was no way I would leave the original coils in place - after all the COPs mod is as much about saving weight and space as it is about better performance through less resistance in the coils circuit and better reliability through removing those...

Installing COPs inc. removing OEM coils pt1

Ok so since I couldn't ride today (missing that front wheel spacer) I went ahead with Birdoprey's Coils Over Plugs mod. Thanks for sending that wire harness Mark!:worthy: I got a set of COPs from an '05 GSXR 600 ($10), and another set from an '01 CBR 929 RR ($5) as spares - both ended up being...
