    Diesel powered bike

He he he...if I got ahold of a Boss Hoss frame, I'd probably throw a Cummins 4bt in it, and have it rattle like the 6bt in my truck. :)

    Diesel powered bike

I'm hoping that the motor I end up with doesn't need an ECU, but if it does, I've heard I can get help with a chip tuner, and then I don't need to have everything from the donor car. Supposidly, a pre 1999 motor here doesn't need near the amount of electronics with it. For some reason, I'm...

    Diesel powered bike

Thanks for the suggestions! I had heard about the Ford Focus, but here they don't come with a diesel. It would be great to get one for that price, but I'd probably have to swim it home! :) I think the 1.9 VW motor is one that we have here...but I'd probably end up with an older one that isn't...

    Diesel powered bike

Thanks for the links...seen most of them, but hadn't read all there was to read in them. Satariel, don't be shy, what do you recommend? :) I know most of the diesel bike sites are over in Europe, diesels haven't quite caught on that big here in the States...so a lot of motors available to you...

    Diesel powered bike

Thanks for the suggestions so far! This bike will be primarily used for commuting...I'm still not sure I could give the Wing up for long distances. :) I'm hoping that I can achieve 70+ mpg, but still have a lot of fun with it. It'll have a turbo on it, but if my set up doesn't have one to...

    Diesel powered bike

Hey All, I have decided that I am going to take on a little project this coming year. I've always enjoyed diesel motors, and figured, why not throw one in a bike? I am in the very early stages of planning right now, but I think I've got the motor chosen, and the transmission probably picked...

    What's a 97 worth?

mnmax, small world...born and raised in Chisago...now on the NW side of the Cities. I saw that 2000 as well. that was actually the one that made me realize that I more or less have to hang on to it till at least next year. I think I've figured out a way to keep it, but there won't be many...

    Ummm....NO! :biglaugh:

    What's a 97 worth?

Yea, i know it's a buyers market...that's one of the reasons I'm asking on here to see what people are actually getting for them. Our local craigslist has a few of them...most seem really high...for instance, a 96 that's painted all black for $5500, a 94 for $4750, and then to round it out, a...

    What's a 97 worth?

Hey All, I've been slowly coming to the conclusion that I may have to sell my Max to help pay for stuff around the house...actually losing sleep over selling it vs paying bills. I don't really want to do it, but at this point, it might be the only way. What I'm trying to figure out is what...

    Mark's ceramic coated systems

Mine might very well be dirty, so I can't say I remember! :) Hey Danny, do both your bikes have open end caps, or did you have turn downs on one of them?

    rain suits

I've got Frogg toggs for on my Wing. I've got the one's the golfers wear, not the motorcycle ones....they are very light weight, do keep the majority if not all of the water out, and store in a tiny ball when not in use. The only thing I'd worry about is if you had exposed pipes, that they...

    Mark's ceramic coated systems

I just wasn't sure I'd like the gold SS look on my bike...the 97's were fairly blacked out to begin with, so I really didn't want to mess with that aspect of it.... which was one of the reasons I was looking to go with the cheaper ceramic coated ones. Redbone, I REALLY like the looks of your...

    Mark's ceramic coated systems

I had Sean ceramic coat my Supertrapps, as the chrome was looking funky, and those look real good on the bike. My headers were already black, but I didn't know how well a ceramic coating would hold up with rock chips and such.

    Mark's ceramic coated systems

Good to know Mark. Are you still liking your system from Mark? Every so often I watch the video you made of it...did you by chance ever make one of it in motion?

    I am Looking for a nice V-MAX

You should live closer to the Twin Cities...then you could just stop over here and I'd work on it! :) Best of luck with your surgery.

    Mark's ceramic coated systems

Hey All, I am going to be ordering a set of Mark's pipes for my 97, and I had figured on doing the ceramic coated steel unless someone can convince me otherwise. I'd have them be black to match the original color of the exhaust on my bike. I'm also thinking of going with 14" cans with 2.5"...

    I am Looking for a nice V-MAX

Why you selling Eagle? I thought now that you've got it running great with the carb work and Mark's pipes that you'd hold on to it? I know you said you'd be off the bike for a few weeks with the surgery, but she'll keep. :)

Anybody run a turbo on a street Vmax?

Thanks for the link Mike, I should have asked how your project was going when I PM'd you. Maybe I should hold off on flipping for the new pipes at the moment... just in case one of these kits do make it to light.

Anybody run a turbo on a street Vmax?

Hey All, I've been thinking of doing some stuff to my bike, (which is mostly stock) and thought it would be neat to put a turbo on it, but the only bikes I'm seeing that have turbos are the ones that are racing. Does anyone have a street ridden Vmax that has a turbo? Is it just not feasible...
