rewiring a 535 virago ,is it possible to dispose of the diode block that controls the cut out switches that stops the bike being started altogether as a replacement is quite expensive

Terry I hate to point out the obvious but this is a Yamaha Vmax forum. You might have better luck on a virago forum.

If it's like the Vmax diode then it has multiple safety components that wire through it. i would suggest searching online for a wiring diagram that would have been in the service manual.
