There's been a couple of announcements on the radio about E10 petrol that is being introduced in September. (the number refers to the percentage of ethanol in the mix, at preset E5 is the current standard)

Stolen from another website :
Apparently it attacks copper, brass, some types of rubbers and other things - if your car has a carburettor, copper/brass fuel fittings, older fuel pumps, steel tanks without a sealing coating, non-oem fuel hoses (except very recent ones), you should expect problems. Time to invest in some fuel additives or keep an eye on where E5 or even plain petrol can still be bought.

Ethanol is horrible. Costs gas mileage, eats rubbers, certain metals and attracts water. The states have been using it for years with lots of problems.
