Yeah, I'm sure the lever change has nothing to do with the clunky shifting. How smooth are the gear changes on your '92?

Down-shifting on mine is somewhat noisy; very reminiscent of what you're saying about the clutch feeling like it may not be completely dis-engaged. I've never given it much thought though. :confused2:

the vmax transmission is one of the clunkiest made. They will make noise but the problem is how much is too much. There is not going to be any good way to describe it where anyone can accurately diagnose it either. There could be internal problems but again there is no real way to know without tearing into it.

so clunky shifting is somewhat normal? Compared to my cb1000c this tranny is not smooth at all....thought it was made that way to handle higher torque produced by this motor
