The top of the cap that has to be removed to replace the seat is flat, flush with the carb top and staked in place.

The needles are new. The tank has been cleaned and coated inside. All of the lines have been cleaned. 2 new filters. No debri shows up inside carbs when dissassembled.

What is the best way to set the float height when you asemble your carbs after cleaning? I am aware of the external hose method but would like to get them as close as possible when putting them back together.

Has anyone changed the needle seats in vmax carbs? Do you have to remove the staked in place plug above the seat?
