Difficult to start, won't start hot, battery draining

I've got a weird set of intermittent issues with my Gen 1. It has a 1500 Tourmaster and flat side carbs fitted which may be contributing. However, the battery seems to drain significantly if I don't start it for a week or so. Is this normal? On top of that, it has become difficult to start when...

    Gen1 cover?

I'm in the market for a cover for the Gen 1, and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for one that fits and is of reasonable quality?

    Scratched fender - carbon fibre

So... my elderly Dad backed into my bike and scratched the front fender. Could have been worse, and I'm cursing myself for parking in the driveway instead of my normal place. Flat side carbs sound

I'm not really familiar with how flat side carbs are meant to sound, so I'm not sure if the sound my bike is making is normal. The carbs "tap" when idling (which is normal) but seem to make a bit of the same tapping noise except louder at a particular rev range (around 3k). Is this normal?

39mm Flat Side Carbs - how to improve the look

I recently bought a rebuilt VMax with 2003 running gear on a 1988 frame, and lots of upgrades including a PCW 1500 Tourmaster engine with 39mm flat side carbs. It's a beautiful machine and pushes 163bhp etc. The carbs are great and bring a lot of extra power, but have left the little scallops...
