86 vmax carb tuning

i just bought this 86 max. runs ok.the carbs were rebuilt but not synced.the idle goes up and down and when i give it gas it stalls. any help would be great thanks scott...

Is the airbox in place? You can't have it just simply open. Sync will also make a big difference.
