Here is a very interesting story about one of America's heroes, an AAF WW II P-51 Mustang pilot who flew recon during the Battle of the Bulge, among other missions. My uncle flew P-38's doing the same thing at the same time.

Be sure to watch his video too! God bless Al Jaffee for surviving the war and being able to live a full life afterwards. :worthy:

Cool story, wonder how many WWII service personell are left?..................Tom.

Not too sure..... I recently went to my Great Uncle's funeral in Nebraska 12/10/12 and he was in the Battle of the Bulge but was infantry. If I recall correctly he was in a total of 3 theaters during WWII. It saddens me to see the olde fart pass on at 90. He had a zest for life , loved God and was very very proud that he fought for our country. :punk: Heck after reading the story they might have even met each other in 95' at the reunion over in Belgium. I know my Great Uncle went over there several years ago on some sort of reunion thing.....

The VA says about 680 WWII vets a day died during 2012.

To hear about a program which flies veterans to see our Capitol's sites see this:

http://www.honorflight.org/

the Honor Flight Network, which provides free trips to veterans. There are other businesses w/similar names, but the Honor Flight Network does it at no cost to the veterans. I have participated in local fundraising for them, and it is a noble purpose they serve.
