I'm gettin' a hankerin' for a bike/helmet camera. There's a ton of them on the market, but does anyone here have a recommendation based on real-world experience?

I had taped on an hd camera once on the side of my helmet.
The stuff I got was not bad but I found it would be better if mounted in the center of helmet so it would show where you look better.
Also it had built in sound.
The wind noise sucks.
I think it would nice if you could have a seperate mic and put somewhere by motor and sheild it from the wind somehow.
That way with no wind noise and just the rummble would be great.
I tried it motion activated with motion stabilization.
The motion stabilization made it look kind of robotic and raised havec with the motion activation.
Ended up with a bunch of real short clips.
If I kept my head moving lots then it kept recording.
Going to try again without motion stabilization.
Hope it will be better.

I use a Archos 504, it's like a small hard drive with a screen attached. I record using a bullet camera (640x480), and the microphone is on the cable that goes to the recorder.

I have a couple of videos up on youtube...
