Hi all

Basically I've taken the front cam cover off to replaced a knackered gasket. It's all ready to go back on, but in the process of taking the cover off one of the rubber plugs came off out of the camshaft cap housing.

Its no. 27 on the fiche below:

Now the gasket is sorted and the cover ready to go back on, but how do I go about fitting the bung? Does it just fit straight in or would I need some kind of glue to make sure it doesn't come out while the engine's working?

Cheers everyone :)

From memory, those bungs can't come out because they are hard up against the cam cover. I think you might even be able to see a mark in the top of it where it has been touching the cover.
So you can just whack it in! :rofl_200:

They press into the top of the head with the lip on the outside.

They don't need any sealer but depending on your degree of paranoia a light wipe of silicon sealer toward the outer edge won't hurt.
