Our work truck got stolen:bang head: which was insured and paid out ok but still made me feel kinda pissed:bang head:
We have purchased a replacement and this time will take preventative steps to make sure it doesn't happen again, I hope.

I was thinking about one of these... http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-TK102-...acking-Device-US-/250683463066?pt=GPS_Devices

If they are any good I will purchase more and put them on my bikes etc....and track and kill the thief who dare takes it:eusa_dance:

Anybody got one? Or similar, who can vouch for how well or good they are??

I think all the GPS trackers have monthly fees so it can add up over time but maybe worth it for piece of mind

Escort radar detecters make a couple of these gps locaters. I don't know anything about them. I just saw them on their website last night. Are you the guy that makes adapters to use late model rotors on early bikes?

Hey Steve i came across these things that run off a gsm network take a sim card u txt it and it txts you back its co-ordinates . Good for the bike or vehicle i have a link for it somewhere and they werent that expensive either .. :clapping:

so all you need to do is have a prepaid phone sim somewhere

:punk: :punk:I use a system from Lo Jack that is trackable by the police when your car is stolen. They make them for Cars, Bikes, Laptops and so on. They work well and may lower your insurance rates. Good Luck, Spurs

Thanks for the replies, I have bought one and I'll see how it goes. If it's great I will buy a bunch more:clapping:

I had looked into the Lojack system, but it was waaaaay too pricey for me. I was expecting it to be expensive, and I was still shocked.

Unfortunately when RV's are stolen, they rarely stay together. They get torn down and parted out asap. A friend had his snowmobile stolen from outside a bar. A week later, the bare tunnel was found ditched at a public boat launch site. We found the parts on ebay less than 24 hours later(suddenly an entire sled's worth of parts that match the one stolen appear for sale...minus the engine block that has a number on it). No way to prove those are the stolen parts, insurance paid out, but still sucks. The Lojack may help police catch the perps, if you can track it before it's torn down, they find the device, and of course destroy it, but it probably won't help you get your stuff back in that case, or get it back in pieces at best.

The ebay device looks kind of interesting, but I'd think to be effective you'd have to modify it to be powered off the bike's battery, or continuously charge it's internal battery off it.

Well, it works! Bit of a head scratcher trying to understand the manual which I still have a lot to grasp but got it communicating to my mobile ph.
Punch in the coordinates in the google earth and bam it zoomed straight to my house.
Not much bigger than a matchbox and easy to hide.
Almost worth getting stuff stolen, follow it and reap destruction on the thief :biglaugh:

omg yes, id wait for someone to steal it and go beat the hail out of tham
