I have gotten hooked on using music while I ride too, but I went with a much simpler approach, one which does not modify the looks of my bike in any way...
and I can move it freely amongst all three of my rides without any effort. Depending upon which helmet I'm wearing, I only have to choose between putting in the earbuds, or turning on the Bluetooth function.
