Hi all. New to the forum and to the Max. I sorta fell into this one. 2004 with 19k miles, all stock. Picked it up from a friend that had stored it for 6 years with a tank full of gas. He took it to the local shop and was told it would take around $2k to get it back on the road. As he was in fictional trouble, he told me that if I could have the bike if payed off the estimate and storage fees. Turned out, all they charged me was the estimate fee and dropped the storage fee. So, for $350, I was the proud owner of a V-max that didn't run. Rebuilt the carbs and cleaned fuel system and she was on the road! Man, what a kick to ride! The first time the boost kicked in I thought I had hit a Nitrous button!
Have been reading the forum for a month now and have to ask about the dates for the different generations. 2004 is still Gen1 right?
