Original frame material on Gen 1?

Can I presume the frame is chrome moly? Or plain DOM. If so what wall thickness. I suspect its CM but not sure. If anyone's cut into the subframe for some custom work before, are the subfame tubes in the seat/ shock areas 0.125" wall tubes?
Just churning some ideas in my head but can't readily find this info. Thanks.

Don't know for sure which of the two metal's you mention. I do know it was not too thin for me to weld on my frame brace tabs, one pass, nice bead, no holes.

I don't know but I doubt that 80's designed mass produced frames would use any of the more exotic steels?
