I was riding last night and started hearing a weird noise, it sounded like some thing was caught in my cooling fan. I slowed down and the noise chenged pitch with my speed. Once I got to about 10mph, it stopped. A few miles down the road, it made the noise again as I was accelerating. I just kept going to try to get home. Good news is that the noise stopped about 30 seconds later, bad news is that once the noise went away, so did the speedo. I haven't had time to look into it yet, but figured i would post here to try and get some direction.

Check to make sure the cable didn't loosen up.......at either end.....

If you could hear it, it would most likely be the gauge end.....

In reality you speedo probably tore itself up internally.....

I am sure others with more experience will chime in......

I'd say it's a classic case of speedometer overwhelmingness! Excessive passes into the vboost zone is generally the culprit, there is no cure, but they do make plenty of replacement cables!:punk:
