Meant to say "could be" not coil be....stupid auto correct combined with bread sticks for fingers gets me every time.
 
My 1985 runs an 1/8" below the red line when it's very hot in traffic, but years ago I checked it with a thermometer and that's 195% I think, so I don't worry unless it's almost buried.
 
stant 13758 here's the cross chart, Napa or orileys carries fail safe tstats that open when they go bad so you don't roach the motor. A 90's Toyota Camry 2.2 liter tstat is the one I've been using it also comes in a 170 and 160 degree version. I think the 170 fail safe was 8 bucks or so. I think the Suzuki swift is also a good one but can't remember the top to bottom measurement. This was found in an old thread on here somewhere I think it was pulled from a venture site. Google a 2.2 tstat
