I'm probably very ignorant in asking this but whatever, if you don't ask you wont learn! So my question is, why have a V-Boost system? Why not have slightly bigger carbs and inlet manifolds? I'd say it would be a lot cheaper to set up and there is more than enough room to install them.

My manual says to use 10W, however, do you guys stick to this? I'm planning to drop the front by about half an inch to steepen the head tube angle to improve steering. So should I stick to the 10W??

The bracket where the footrest attaches to has a rubber damper, and I'm wondering, will the damper be able to resist the temperature (~200) of the oven in the powder coating process??

What kind of paint/coat can be used for the engine? I was thinking that I'd powder coat it. But will the powder coat be able to sustain the repetitive heat ups and cool downs of the engine? I'm especially worried around the exhaust ports where it is going to get VERY hot.

I've just discovered that I have rust inside my petrol tank. I'm not sure what to do. I get the impression that the fuel filter can handle it. But I'm wondering, is there a possibility of getting rid of the rust?

I was checking out a piston the other day and I noticed wear marks on either side of it as seen in the pictures... ...is this normal or dangerously expensive??? I haven't checked out the other pistons yet...they might have it too :(

HI! While taking the engine apart I noticed what appears to be some kind of "exhaust washer" in the exhaust port of the cylinder head. Is that what it is??

HI! I'm thinking of shot blasting the engine clean of old paint and oxidation and getting it re-painted. Has anyone had any experience in doing this? What kind of preparations need to be done before doing it??
