I'm driving to Pa tomorrow to bring home my new to me 86 v-max.The previous owner said he thinks the color is wildberry,is that right.He said that was the only color for that year he thought.any tips on dos and donts to strap this down.I've never had to haul one in a truck.

Ok, this question may have been asked before, but are the calipers the same on a 86 model as an 85 model? It's just that 99% of the brake pads I see for sale say "Fits models 1986-92". I know the 93-03 are different, and so on, but did the 86 have different pads to the 85? or should I just buy...

I noticed two things since I got my '86 Max: - my rear shocks don't have any damping adjustment - I can't get the bike on its centre stand unless I roll the rear wheel on a plank. So I think someone put shorter shocks to lower the bike :bang head:, and I would like to go back to stock. So...

hi all, I just wondered, having seen the mods here, what the deal is with fitting R1 rotors and calipers to an '86 V-Max? Can the rotors and calipers come from any year R1? Or only specific models? Are both a direct bolt-on, or are adapters needed? Thanks

As the title says, will 1997 coils and wires work for my new to me 1986 Vmax? I need new ones and I have a good deal on some '97' take off's.

I need some help on this.I already talked to Sean and he does not sell this adaptor.Chad,a vmaxer that just moved to my town has an 86 max with stock brakes.He already has a set of R1 calipers and rotors.The calipers have the blue inserts.I did some searchs and have found no answers yet.

Is there any difference in the front wheel from an 85 to an 86? I bought my buddy's bike (an 86) but since I had just put a new front tire on my 85 I swapped the wheels. Now I have two things, the breaks are squealing a bit at stops and the speedo seems about 3-4mph off at lower speeds and 5-7...

:bang head:Hello all.. I just acquired an 86 Vmax with some issues.. I have to pull the motor.. The bike has the Kerker 4-1? with the Chrome can at the back. Does anyone have a .pdf or website showing how the system is installed?... Just curious if the motor had to be removed to install this...

After resoldering the connections and running the harnesses, I have finally found that flexing the control module board causes my intermittened boost issues... Having no desire to strip all the resin off and resolder the entire board, I was wondering if any of you out there who have done away...

My right rear (as I sit on the bike)carb is messed up and probably cant be fixed. I got a set of carbs off an 86 XVZ13 pretty cheap. What would be the best way to go? I can either take the right rear venture carb, switch the jets, and bolt it in with the v-max carbs, or just clean, switch jets...
