Just bought an 03 with 11000KM on it. Pics next week when I get it home. Bike is like new. I have a set of 4 DPR9EIX plugs here that I had for my Buell as spares. Is it ok to use the 9's in the V-MAX or should I just stick with the 8's. Not planning to change them now but for future reference.

Those are strange numbers to me. IRIDIUM's, I don't see a need for those.
Standard plug is DPR8EA-9
 
Could be a different heat range too. Might check.
Nothing wrong with iridium I think but carbs burn so dirty you'll never get the mileage out of them that they would in a modern fuel injected machine.

I would stay with the stock heat range.
