E-Bay Stator???

Just beginning to solve the problems with my new 1986 Max.

Tests using the tutorial on this site indicate I probably need a new stator.

Yamaha parts online wants 450 for one but there are a lot of them for around 125 on ebay.

anybody bought a stator or other new electrical parts from E-Bay with success?
