How much wider can the swingam be??

Hello all,

i'm planning to strech+widen my swingarm, so the question is how much can it go wider in order not to use any additional u-joints.

My goal is 15mm (0.6 inch) on both sides.

4-1 exhaust will be used

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I see wide swingarms in europe so my guess would be as wide as your wallet ..

We do the extended swingarms and anything greater then .250" on the drive side and you can run into angularity issues (we had tried .375" which didn't work and caused too much bearing loads). Not sure on the right side since that's usually not an issue. If you need that much room on the right side then the wheel is not very well centered.

I do have a 240 swingarm setup (for sale) that we built using gen 2 components. It did use up space on the right side as mentioned and is offset to that side now (and we're as far as practical over to the left). It's approx 7" longer then stock as well.
