Thanks everyone for the input. I am going to change the exhaust this off season, so I'll go ahead and drop the pan to look at the o ring then.

Good idea. I'm wondering if anyone has tried the video inspection camera (like the ones at harbor freight) with any success, to inspect the o-ring? Be cool if it worked. Anybody?
