Imo same is apllicable for Europe and the rest of the western world. BigCorp, BigBank and BigPharma have taken over, average income has declined so people only worry about themselves, thier own wallet, no room for compassion or altruism
Politicians only work for the lobbyists and every politician who sticks his neck out will be crushed by the media which is owned by BigCorp.

Dont think its really as simple as which one is greatest anymore. Greatest schooling, greatest health care, greatest policing... yes easy to find out.. but overall greatest... that will be tough.

I heard a Socialist several years back, can't remember for sure, but it might have been on Bill Maher's show. He said that a Socialist would never be elected in the USA running as a Socialist, but that no longer mattered, because the Democrats had adopted the same basic platform. I think he was more right than wrong.
