Tach stopped working

Riding in to work this morning I hit a series of very bad bumps ( which is unusual because normally the roads here in Quebec are smooth as glass :biglaugh The motor then felt like it was running on two cylinders and the tach stopped working. It did this for about 1/2 mile and then came back. I have noticed recently that bad bumps seem to make the motor misfire. Any ideas ?? ignition switch ??

I would start out by checking out my electrical connectors. Sounds to me like the plug into the ECI box may have jostled enough to come loose.
