just a random question but i'm in the market of a vmax or sabre and i know the v65's are around 3800rpm @ 60-65. how about the maxes? i know coolness wise the max wins no questions asked but i like to do some long distance riding and rarely do interstate unless i have to. any input?

Mine (fitted with a Venture diff) does as follows. Standard Max pumpkin is 500 rpm more on all speeds.

3500 = 60 mph
4000 = 70
4500 = 80
5000 = 90
5500 = 100
6000 = 110
6500 = 120
7000 = 130

Or, you can buy my 2005 which I have already done one of our overdrive conversions to the gear set. 60 = 3000, 80 = 4000, 100 = 5000

Mileage on the bike total isn't even 10,000 yet.

Standard Vmax Diff. Deduct 10% if you add the venture diff too! The nice thing about doing the 5th gear compared to the venture diff is the stock acceleration is retained through the first 4 gears (or about 120mph).

ALL I KNOW IS THAT WHEN I'M CRUISING ON THE HIGHWAY , I'M ALWAYS TRYING TO GET IT INTO 6TH & 7TH GEAR !...:rofl_200:IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN !

Indeed, that's why I asked. But also, with that long 5th gear AND the Venture pumpkin you're then looking at a fantastic highway cruiser.

The chart on v-max outlaw says 3800 @ 60mph stock I think, and that's what mine seems to do.

All I know is that it seems to be positively loafing compared to the 600 I just traded, lol. 60mph = 6000 rpm.

the 600 would also be geared differently. i know going from my 850 to my dad's v65 magna is real nice. 5th gear feels like what a 6th would probably be like on my GS. i do more highway riding so the 6th gear on something like the v65 feels like it's lugging around at 3000rpm so i'm not real worried about how many gears i'd have on a vmax.
