Four teens accused of murderWhy does this story sound so familiar? Oh, that’s right.

The victim this time, Lawrence E. “Shine” Thornton of Greenville, Miss., 87, was a local celebrity, famous for his hot tamales. Now he is the latest casualty in what LU contributor Colin Flaherty observes is a national epidemic of black-on-white violence.

Having served his country on a minesweeper in the Pacific theater during World War II, Thornton returned home to work for a local electric company and eventually opened a liquor store.

The victim Lawrence E. ThorntonAccording to Greenville police, he was accosted by the four teens in his own driveway on Oct. 18. They demanded money. After seizing the aging man’s wallet, they shoved him to the ground. During the fall, he sustained injuries to the head. He succumbed two days later at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

CNSNews notes that four teenage suspects are Terrance Morgan and Edward Johnson, both 19, and Leslie Litt and Geblonski Murray, both 18. They are being charged with capital murder, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Looks like he was a pretty cool old dude. I bet he was the type that would sit down and talk with you and tell you stories about the old days.


People ask me day in and day out, why do you carry a gun..........I respond with something most of the time, sometimes with a smart ass remark.

Anyways, I read things like this and I hope these scum bags get what they deserve.

$2.5 million dollar bond is the smallest bond for one of the murdering assholes.

I used to thing that places like Saudi Arabia had it all wrong about punishment... cutting off hands , public executions, etc...The farther this country goes down the democratic party's rabbit hole, the more I think the Saudis might be on to something.

It would be too good to imprison these animals for the rest of their lives. I think we should just feed them feet first into a wood chipper. I know more than a few people that would be glad to donate the chipper and the gas.

I recommend the Russian Method.

Shoot them in the head during the night while they are asleep in their cells so they don't even know what happened and don't have time to feel any fear. Be merciful.

just dispose of them for the safety of society. Don't get angry. that never ends well either.

This needs to be moved to the burnout pit. They may not censor it there. but they do censor stuff that they don't understand.

It probably does but lack of discipline in the schools is a big part of the problem and lawyers and liberals caused that.

I went to a Catholic primary schools where Jesuit's taught us morals, self-discipline and critical thinking. Then I wen't on to a Catholic Military school for boys where they taught more of the same, how to shoot, and how to wear a coat and tie every day and look professional when you don't have to wear your marine uniform that day for some reason.

The biggest problems we had in school were smoking cigarettes on campus, and writing on the bathroom walls.

Find me a principal in any public school who would not give his right arm to have those two problems be his worst and you've found an NEA Liberal Socialist who is at the heart of the problem.

I used to have an uncle in law that was a school district superintendent after being a teacher and then a principal for years. His biggest problem is that you can't expel anyone. You can only transfer them. He refused to do that because he did not want to dump his problems on another principal. So he dealt with them using all the tools he had...none. the lawyers and the NEA had taken all his ability to discipline children away from him. Now kids know you can't touch them and they are running wild.

Children in inner schools understand nothing but violence these days and know that the law can't touch them until they kill somebody.

That is a big part of why this vet died and nobody has the guts to deal with the problem.

First point, i totally agree, moving now.

Second point - Remember this is a motorcycle forum and I think all the mods are VERY generous with letting off (and on) topic discussions run their course, with limited involvement, and since I believe that comment is directed at me, i can assure you its not lack of understanding but rather making sure this feels like a welcoming place for all [V-Max] riders despite, religion, race, sexual orientation etc. If it was not directed at me, or you still have some issues you'd like to discuss my PM box is always open.

I will say this...I think that Buster and ALL of the Mods are generous with giving us an area and allowing people to hold discussions and to vent. I think this is just ONE of the reasons why the forum is great.
