HI all,
While reading about all the carb. probs and specifically the rubber diaphrams I was wondering---------------

Is there any substance that will keep these expensive rubber and plastic bits living longer without cracking????????

My bike has over 68,000 miles and I'm on my 2nd set of slides. I think the key is to ride the bike and not let it sit. Petrol is hard on the rubber diaphragm so make sure you're not running to rich. When taking off the slide covers fuel shouldn't come out. If there is it usually means too rich or a purge jet is plugged. Once or twice a year I pull the slides and clean the slide and diaphragms with a soft cloth and WD-40.

I'm sure this ethanol gas doesn't help.....:bang head:
