Hi all:
If I?m not mistaken, the two coils the closest to you when you're sitting on the bike are numbers 1 & 3.
But actually coil #1 is on the right and crosses over to the LEFT to attach to the spark plug for cylinder #1, and coil #3 is on the left and crosses over to the RIGHT to attach to the spark plug for cylinder #3.
Is the above correct?
Thanks very much.

You're right, they are coils 1 & 3. But usually they are not crossed, as far as I can remember.

2 & 4, on the front under the instruments pod, OTOH, are most definitely crossed, with coil number 4 on the left and coil number 2 on the right, looking at them sitting on the bike.

And for the avoidance of doubt, the cylinder numbers are:

front of bike
2 4
1 3
rear of bike

So perhaps THAT is why the bike is running like crap!!!

Again, you guys ROCK THE BELLS!

Thanks!!!

i can only imagine the problems that is causing.

accidental or on purpose, point or no point,
who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men . . .:confused2:

if it goes back to the correct source for input it really doesn't matter what coil fires what plug.

I'm just sayin' he needs to check the whole assembly, start to finish before he just swaps the wires.

I uncrossed the front coils. It makes it easier to change the wires.
