Is the "Crimp" fix still necessary on the '06 model year?
Vmax Outlaw says "Older bikes seem to benefit more from this modification."
I'm not very mechanically inclined, so if yamaha has improved this connection or there isn't much benifit from it, I might avoid it altogether.
However, If some of you with a later model vmax have seen improvement, I will go out and buy the stuff needed and spend a day tinkering.
Thanks,
Marty

My 98 crimp was in great condition, I soldered it anyway, but didn't need to. It is easy to find and inspect, so I'd do that much, if I were you. My connectors under the left side cover needed cleaning, tho. This brought my charging system back up to where it should be.
