Well just posting pics for the people that would be interested in seeing the progress.
Displacement is 1300 cc
Horse power , trying for atleast 160 rwhp
of course supercharged
heads I left the cams stock as for valves ,I did the valve work .stock ports .
As for the block chrome no .I am leaving it venture silver
also H.P with decent gas mileage to boot. that is my goal

ok new pics ,and one slight problem . the primary gear on the crankshaft is missing the timing mark to time it to the balancer shaft.
Does anyone here know how to time the crank to balancer shaft with no reference mark?:ummm:

The manual has a picture that shows two triangle timing marks on the upper crankcase that should align with the timing mark on the balancer shaft gear. The #1 piston should be at top dead center.
Hope this helps.

I am going to machine the weights off when I build my bigbore. My motor that I am running now was the same as yours.I called John at PCW and he explained to me how to line it up.I forget now though.

:eusa_dance:eek:n mine I choose to use the venture flywheel . It's a little heavier but want some weight to offset my surge when supercharged .can't wait to hear about and see your bigbore engine .

I have one if you want it Shawn. It caused a lot more vibration when I used it. I went back to one with the weights.

Does your crankcase have the triangles?
yes I found it . thank you very much .I was starting to sweat it !!
I would hate to have the balancer shaft out of time.
It happened to me when I built my 1500 vulcan engine . and that thing vibrated the engine mounts loose . had to tear it back down .
It sucked .I included a picture of the triangle that you had mentioned with #1 cyl at T.D.C
I now have the cams timed . I was going to wait to time the cams until I received my main bearings . But I got impatient . no big deal though as I can insert the new mains in with the heads and cams timed .
The only half way difficult thing I see with building the engine from top to bottom .Is going to be getting the lower case onto the upper case half ,
due to the transmission having to be built in the lower half. I will update as soon as I get more complete.

How are you going to change the main bearings with the cam chains on?Specialy with out messing up the cam timing?

I think Morley ran w/o the balancer shaft in a couple of his bikes.

How are you going to change the main bearings with the cam chains on?Specialy with out messing up the cam timing?
I have the lower case off . so the lower section you put the new bearings in it . on the upper section you lightly tap the 2 outside main bearings from around the crankshaft, then lightly tap the new ones around the crankshaft .
Then lightly tap both inner main bearings out from the crankshaft.
and lightly tap the inners in the same way. no need to remove cams or timing chains etc .

relatively easy . :eusa_dance:
