Exhaust header clamp nuts - what type?

Looking to replace the TDM850 (?) front headers that are currently on my bastardised trike. They're held on with standard M8 hex nuts. My manual shows allen nuts (cylinders with an allen socket). I've found one video showing the rear exhaust header nuts which are these allen nuts.
Just checking if I'd be wasting my trying to find allen nuts or if a more normal fastening would fit?

Yes, a hex nut of the proper thread will work. For the OEM, I use a 3/8" drive socket of the proper allen size, instead of an allen key. Easier, faster.

Good to know a hex nut will fit. Cheapest OEMs I can find £5 ea.
