These were sold through UFO but made by Rick (RamAir4Vmax I think was the site years ago). Very rare set of scoops for sure!

What are they hooking into it appears you have stock carbs. I'm asking as I have vgas carbs with the exact same scoops but mine have round pieces that connect on the carbs. Does these have those? Asking cause if so I may be interested cause they are extremely rare. Thanks

I have the same ones on my bike so I really don't need them but if they will work on mine I may buy them just incase

Here is some more pictures of them. I took them off of the bike and remounted the stock ones and the mounting points are exactly the same as the stock ones.

Exactrep sells c/f Gen. 1 scoops, styled like the OEM, listing for $294.78 the pair.

Carbon Fibre Air Scoops (exactrep.com)

They use the OEM grille inserts.

I don't know if yours are the ones that were to be used with the VGas, for ram-air induction, perhaps Josh could include some pics of how his mount to the VGas carburetor bell-mouths. The tiny slits for the air opening sure look like they would greatly-restrict the potential maximum airflow. Of course, on an OEM CV carburetor rack, the air scoops are more of an aesthetic enhancement than anything actually providing a ram-air benefit.

Sean will know, I think it was Tyga who also offered c/f air scoops which I believe were also styled like the OEM. They ran a close-out where the prices for their c/f parts were greatly-reduced.

One of my friends does c/f fabrication. I've posted his Gold Wing on here, he made a front cowling, rear fender, seat & 'tank cover' out of c/f and also a front fender.

The older guys on here may recall the Tracy fender/seat/side panels/gas tank from the 1970's. They made the SOHC Honda 750 look like a cross between a flat-tracker and a roadracer. They also made them for other bikes, like the Z1 Kawi.

Ok nevermind those are fake scoops just a better looking option than stock. Mine are actually the real thing.

Mine are sealed on the backside and those are fully open. Then on the bottom of mine they have two round openings that sit down on the top of the carbs so the air is actually routed into the carbs. Those you have are no good to me but for a stock setup they are pretty cool looking. Not sure I'd pay a 1000 for those but thats just my opinion. Now if they were like mine then I'd say the price is a little on the low side thats why I was asking the questions cause if so I would have taken them for sure.

I have a friend with the stock setup I'll let him know maybe he'd be interested like I said for a stock setup they are pretty cool looking

Also as fire medic said those vents would definitely restrict the air flow. Mine have the same opening but it's wide open and I have air filters In it to block anything from getting inside of them. like I said before mine are sealed and connected directly to my carbs so I don't want anything but air getting inside of them.

I'd have to take them off to show you the back but it's enclosed not open like yours

Those are red air filters in the openings with the halo ring lights that light up red when I turn the bike on

You guys know a lot more about all of this than I do lol. These were on my bike when I purchased it and I was in the process of selling my bike and was suggest to take them off and sell them separate. I have now sold the bike and just have these for sale. Based off of what Sean said I took them off and am selling the separate. The knowledge of everyone here is truly amazing and unfortunately I don’t have much knowledge of these as all of you do.

Maybe you should buy another Gen 1 and get the VGas carburetor set-up, and make those true ram-air. 🏁

Bump. Taking any reasonable offer. These are just sitting around with no bike to go on

We can't sell and buy you name a price my friend may take them he has the fake stock ones.

Not sure how you'd fix that im sure someone will chime in im sure its not an easy fix but I could be wrong.

It is actually pretty easy to fix it. Is it just epoxy over the carbon fiber. From what I’ve seen. Clean the area. Fill it with epoxy so that it sticks above the surrounding area. Let it harden. Sand and feather it in around the area and then polish.
