Hello, New member from East Texas. New to the VMax, but not new to riding. Bike is a 95' with cobra pipes and a jet kit. No other mods. Anybody else out there in Texas?

Welcome, give your bike a 15% boost in horsepower by replacing the Cobra exhaust with the stock system, and returning the jetting to OEM (DO NOT buy or use a 'no-name' set of brass off ebay!). The Cobras look cool but have no efficiency in proper exhaust scavenging which means your bike has significantly less power than with a stock megaphone or any slip-on system.

Thanks for the advice. What aftermarket do you recommend? Also ive thought about replacing with stocks because i miss the center stand!

I actually like an OEM chrome dual megaphone system. Keep it waxed and the chrome lasts a long time. The header pipes will show pitting/corrosion long-before the megaphones will. Your hearing acuity will thank you for keeping it stock. The noise level of the OEM system is low enough you can run it hard without announcing your presence to every LEO within a quarter-mile.
