Pilot screw questions-HELP!

Hi folks:

Why does my idle sound and speed not change at ALL when I screw in the pilot screws ALL THE WAY on carbs for cylinders 1 and 3? I thought that doing this would mean no fuel going to cylinders 1 or 3?

When I do the same for carbs 2 and 4, the idle sound and speed drops, though.

Anyone help me?

sounds like dirty pilots.
Do the shot gun or pea shooter. You can find the threads in the carb section.

My needles on the mixture screws were so worn down that they did same thing. After I replaced em I was able to adjust them like they should be.

Are your carbs synch'd properly?
