My rear wheel has a little bit of side to side lateral movement coming from the center of the wheel. This can be felt when the back wheel is lifted off the ground and pressure is applied to the side of the rim/tire, a small amount of lateral wiggle back and forth.

I assumed it was a broken wheel bearings so I took it to a shop. They said the bearings seemed fine and they didn't know how to fix it, said it might be normal but they have zero experience with vmax's. Is a little movement normal or what should be replaced? Thanks

2009 vmax

Never really checked for it but would be highly suspect of that diagnosis.

True, fully agree with that. Just want to verify other gen 2 vmax's don't do the same thing before I start throwing parts at it and replacement bearings etc.

Ok this is from manual for 1st gen but if gen 2 is different then ignore.
max axial run out (measured at rim) 0.5 mm
rear axle nut 120 Nm (89 lb/ft) so bearings are clamped up pretty damn tight

I deduct from the above, there should be no detectable movement when attempting to wiggle the wheel.
