serious problems after oil pump recall work

I've seen this happen with the 350hp Yamy outboards. Usually a factory rep. will supervise the rebuilding of the motor or replacement of it. In this case I'd want that service. Yes, I too hope the recall is done already before the motor was shipped. What's up with the oil pump issue that this is happening alot? I've got to wonder about the recall parts besides the service end.
I'd be nervous if going for this recall.
