Solenoid substitution?

Howdy all! Long time no speak...

Question for you...

If my Max's solenoid is failing, is it safe to use another bike's solenoid (a different-looking solenoid, but for a 1994 Honda CB1000) on the Max?

I see no reason why you can't use any solenoid you can get to fit (I have good used ones though). All it does is perform a circuit completion. Your year will have one wire which is the activation and then the two terminals for the battery power and wire to the starter.

The newer ones are similar and have 2 wires which is basically the ground wire. You can make it work as well.
