Like so many others my starter clutch ended up in the bottom of my case in many,many pieces. I found a new assembly at a few sites for my 89 but I don't see the light blue friction tape or whatever it is that I have seen on a few rebuild pictures here on this site. It is coiled up inside the clutch & looks like it slides over the hub on the main gear behind the flywheel. I have pulled many flywheels & balancers in my life but this one was the hardest ever. Needed two people with double wrenches & ruined 3 grade 8 bolts. Never seen anything like it. I checked my shop manual & can't find this piece. If you can help.....thanks.

it's only included in brand new assemblies if you are talking about the retaining plastic. There is no tape needed anywhere when it's all put together.
