Air Filter Servicable?

:ummm:I was wondering if the stock air filter is a serviceable unit i.e. can it be cleaned. How often should an air filter be replaced? How can you determine that it needs replacement?

Yeah, you can use a soft brush to get some of it. When your gas mileage goes down and you're rich everywhere...time to change. I went to the K&N replacement filter. I clean and re-oil my K&N's every spring.

The K&N I bought came with a filter charger kit. It comes with a cleaner you spray on. Then, use clean water from inside out to clean the filter. There's another spray bottle with oil. You spray down each pleat and you're done! The oil is what catches the dirt.
