You balance #1 to #2
#2 comes in at ? what reading should I expect?
The vacumn gauge I use is a factory Honda.
The 4 gauges go fron 0 to 30
Hoses have regulators
Front Cyl's were at 7
Back Cyl's were at 16

So for sure need adjusting.

Good article.
So I know #2 rules I was just curious as what others read.
Mine all should be 16
Thanks

The value isnt important as making sure all are equal across the gauge.
The value will vary from bike to bike.. Engine wear, altitude weather etc.
Set them in at 1500 RPM, ease the throttle to 3500-4500 and see if they are stay reasonable equal with each other.

The carb sync article from the forum and the one posted here above # the cyl different.
Thats why I put 16 then changed to 7.
I knew they had to be the same but there was such a difference between the two I was looking for a refference.
So all as close to 7 as I can get it.

Thanks

I am going to sync mine too. I have a Carbtune II tool. I found this link that looks like it might help both of us.

It is specific to the Carbtune but I think the basics are the same.

Well, par the course, the day my CarbTune comes in, this page disappears, code 404. I even looked at it a few times last few weeks, but never saved a local copy. :damn angry:

Anyone have a local copy saved of this page, or an alternative good "how to" for sync? I'm pretty good with a wrench, but haven't done this before.

Make sure motor is warmed up and no choke with tool hooked up.

Use the WayBack Machine http://web.archive.org/web/20010802053905/http://www.angelfire.com/ia2/vmax/carbtune.htm . Some of the picture are missing but the rest is there. I'm going to recreate it here. It is a good write up.

Some articles say the adjuster screw for the right front carb (#4) balances the right side carbs (#3 & # 4) with the left side carbs (#1 & # 2), and others, such as this one, suggest carbs #1, #3 & #4 are adjusted independently to the master carb (#2)

I don't think it matters which article you're working from as long as, when you move over to the right side of the bike, you adjust the right rear carb (#3) first, then the right front (#4).

This 'anglefire' article is the cleanest and easiest to work from IMO.

Thanks! That wayback machine is cool, and the thread here is nice too... I pretty confident between these two I'll knock it out pretty easy.

And yes, re-creating the page here is a great idea!

Sync'd my carbs for the first time today using the above thread, with my new Carbtune Pro.

First time so probably took me 45 minutes, next time probably 15, if that. Once I realized how the three sync screws all interact, it was pretty easy. Plus the tool is all setup now so won't have to do that again. Awesome tool, highly recommended.

Sync wasn't off too bad, one of the right carbs about 2 centimeters of mercury too high, but I got them all right in line.

Once again, this forum :punk:.
