All government buildings, state parks and such are closed in SC....... I'm in the mining industry and we are on a hold. No more than 60 hours a week, hiring freeze, no raises, no extra spending unless it's absolutely needed. As long as our customers are hauling we're open, I'm hoping it stays busy, but with much needed infrastructure repairs going on, I don't see us staying home. But we are following the 6 foot rule, and 90 percent of the miners are equipment operators anyways, so they are in there own little bubble. I on the other hand go around from quarry to quarry servicing equipment, so I have more interactions with people, but I stop for gas..... Pick up parts, keep my hands in my pockets, maintain the 6 foot rule or more. I don't make extra stops....... I bring my lunch from home if I eat, all my drinks are from home, nobody I mean nobody gets access to my service truck. I get out I lock it, I get in I lock it lol. I live alone with 3 dogs and a bearded dragon so no fear at home. I ain't been shopping in over a month. Drink mostly water, coffee, tea. Got plenty of TP lol, enough to last me a few months or more, and just so happens I picked a good time to start a diet, and start working out again. Went from 215 pounds to 190 in 3 weeks, got out my long forgotten 34" waist pants, lol.

The overall mortality rate has increased for this year to 7.4%. These numbers can be had from the CDC website with a breakdown of ALL the types of flu going around.

Yes....You can practice social distancing. In the past, we called these people germaphobes. Humans are an inherently dirty animal rife with disease. Even if you follow the worst case scenario of 500K people dead from this, remember, 330 million still live. Either you have a strong immune system or you dont. I think grinding the world to a halt for the frailty of the elderly is outright foolish. Nature has and always will dictate who will survive based on your immune system. If you do have a frail immune system, it is up to you to look out for you. Not quarantine 330 million people for one. This is classic tail wagging the dog. And this is all a guise for a test run of control. Seeing what it takes to scare people into compliance. And rest assured, terrorists are watching and switching tactics to use against us.

Hi me living in Sweden 67 Years old and Close to the "critical Group" (70+ here )
Sweden have had a "special strategy" compared to other Euorpean countries were they have closed Everything the last weeks….. here most things are open!
Here we have "recommendations" not going Closer than 5-6 feet and let 70+ be out of Contact with other people (risc Group) and wash our hands day along. Groups bigger than 50 persons not ok, But its ok to be out and go to restaurants and other official areas just follow basic restrictions..... CRAZY ??? How knows ? All is to not Close all things then it will be more dreadly afterwards with no work for many many people …..
Situation here just now is a Little more dead people than countries close to us but hard to compare… all have different values depending how much measures made on population. Here few in germany many (they have better % but in reality ?
The reality our Swedish experts working with I think is that most people must have this Corona virus and then be immune; the strong survive and the not(elder and sick ….....).
If closing Your country in 3-4 weeks ; no problem virus will be out but in some weeks its coming back and still no vaccine…. Result … starts again… see China this is dreadful !

I have to keep this kind of brief.. I am 61 and about 90% retired. Have worked my ass off for 40 years to save enough to put my 3 kids thru school, pay off my house, and now finally slow down and do a lot more riding, fishing, traveling.. This freaking virus could do me in.. I'm in pretty good shape but right on the edge of the danger zone. I have never been a germaphobe, but honestly I am quick approaching "scared shit". If is one thing to die doing something love, another to die a slow death from this BS virus. That is not what I signed up for.. So yes.. I am 99% of the time in the house or outside if this shit NJ weather ever clears. There have been all kinds of people recently dying.. athletes and 30 somethings, cops, fireman, EMTs.. Not just the old and sick

Long and short of it. The sooner they can get this thing under control the better in my mind..

PS: I have lost a small fortune in my investments to boot.. Just plain sucks for all..

Long as you just use good common sense I think youll be fine. I dont know about these numbers either, we’ve had two engineers have false positives I dont even trust the tests to be honest. I never get sick but few weeks ago huge sinus headach for one night then i was horse for two weeks. My father 62 went to the doc which he never does back on mar 2nd and they said it was unidentifiable flu. Im not a conspiracy theorist but I put nothing by china no doubt they hid it but did they design it? Being political active and versed in hisiltory i do not trust china didnt have motivation to stop the trade war. I mean my god in 2009 we put a medical device tax that pushed ppl to rely on china for ventilators then this comes along. A perfect storm or ideologies cohorting. We will beat this back and we will see the models were wrong and hopefully how this all came about. Just stay away from folks and keep clean.

Well boys and girls I live in Scotland , and here Britain was going to go down the herd immunity route like Sweden is doing, but rightly or wrongly the government took fright at the possible collapse of our national health system when it couldn’t cope with the overwhelming demand that going that route alone would bring.( we know this by the state of Italy,all be it they did not have a choice). So it’s all about not letting the demand spike, hence the lockdown,how is is managed is crucial to keeping the economy going, avoiding civil unrest and protecting the NHS so it can cope. Everyone will probably get the virus unless there is an antidote found imminently and it would be unlikely even if it was found that it could be manufactured and distributed in time. So in the words of an American president. “ Don’t ask what your country can do for you,ask what you can do for your country”. Covid 19 doesn’t care who or what you are. Ask our PM.
