gasket warping...

Just noticed this morning that the rubber gasket behind the left crankcase cover cap is warped, just for about 2 inches on the very bottom of it. No oil is leaking out, it just looks like crap. Ordered a new one, but wondering if it is a warning sign of potential engine problems or probably just due to the fact that it is 17 year old rubber...

we've had the same thing happen. The gasket shrinks or changes shape just enough to actually leak from time to time. Nothing I would worry about.

Thanks, Sean. Glad to know I'm not the only one, and that it's not anything of concern. Popping a new one on there anyway, just for looks.
