I just finished testing the 4 coils I got from Pinwall and 3 coils Morley sent. I also just tested a set of p/u coils from Morley. I'll post the results of everything:

My '85 (on the bike) pickup coils:
B-O: 119.9 ohms
B-W/R: 120.4 ohms
B-Gray: 121.6 ohms
B-Whi/Green: 120.5 ohms

Morley's pickup coils:
(not sure of wire color order)
117.8 ohms
117.9 ohms
120.9 ohms
117.5 ohms

Pinwall Ignition Coils (cracked plastic casings):
#1 primary: 3.6 ohms
#1 secondary: 13.9k ohms
#2 primary: 3.6 ohms
#2 secondary: 14k ohms
#3 primary: 3.6 ohms
#3 secondary: 13.8k ohms
#4 primary: 3.6 ohms
#4 secondary: 13.7k ohms

Morley's coils:
#1 primary: 3.4 ohms
#1 secondary: 13.4k ohms
#2 primary: 3.5 ohms
#2 secondary: infinite ohms (open short)
#3 primary: 3.3 ohms
#3 secondary: 12.9k ohms

Now my questions:
1. Has anyone ever tested brand new coils from the factory to see how close they are to what the manual says they should be?
2. Which electrical parts in this list should I mix and match to get the best performance?

Your p/u coils are in spec. I've tested new ignition coils before when my Dyno hot coils failed and they were all about 3.3 Ohms. I can't see how 1/3 Ohm difference in what you tested would make a difference. I'll test mine again in the morning to verify.

Did you try cleaning your connector first? Hard to say...how much are p/u coils?
