Mark... it's amazing to me what you can buy sportbike wise and the deals. Had a chance to weigh that GSXR arm tonight 31 lbs. with everything on it.

No kidding. Ya know, technically i only have $250 in the wheels/rotors/cush. Did a lil trading and thats all i have in what i traded off.

I found this on the internet... so it has to be real!!!!!

Bridgestone Battlax is 199/50 - 17 = 15.0 lbs

I don't believe that weight. Heck, a Shinko drag slick(not the stealth 003 or Ultra Soft street tires) weighs 15lbs!

I did find some weights though:

Michelin Power One tires:
120/70ZR17= 8.4lbs
120/60ZR17= 7.6lbs
180/55ZR17= 11.5lbs
190/50ZR17= 12.2lbs
Shinko 180/55R17 U-soft= 12.6lbs

Added the parts up.

R1 Wheels (complete) 56.5 lbs. $500.00
R1 Forks 27.5 lbs. $300.00
GSXR Rear Sets 2.0 lbs. $ 80.00
GSXR Swingarm 31.0 lbs. $200.00

117.0 lbs. $1080.00 Total

:hmmm: $9.23 / Lb.

Found a front fender for 20.00 ebay. It will get painted black eventually. That's my boy Ray watchin so nobody steals it! All 120 lbs of him.

More parts... Found an 08 frame (cracked up) and a total rear brake assembly. ($150.00) Needed the rear section only, the fella I picked it up from was nice enough to just cut that part away to reduce shipping costs. Like the way the swingarm bushings are mounted in the frame. Needed the frame for dimensioning of the swingarm geometry.

Hey Gary,

You really got a smoookn deal on those controls, especially w/ the cables. I've seen one side go for that PLUS SHIPPING, and that was W/O the cables. I did a lil wiring diagram for the busa throttle/switch assembly i put on mine. Got what i hooked to on the stk v-max harness and wire colors. May not be needed if you are ditching the stk harness. I plan to, but for now i've got a hybrid...

Ebay is cool every once on a while you can find something listed where it shouldn't be. That's when you can get a deal. Good to know you have that info on wiring. I'll be making the harness from scratch on this bike. One thing this bike will have is a cable operated clutch. Lookin at levers right now... there's some nice stuff out there. Always disliked the stock Vmax ones.

The new bike will have a dry sump oil setup. The oil pump will be mounted where the existing water pump is now. So I found this little guy used on another forum. It's sold by Muzzy, when I got in the mail I was very surprised by it's size. Powerful little sucker and it only draws 1.3 amps @ 4gal./min wow! . A little pricey I paid 170.00 TMD... New 209.00. I should also mention that I'll be making a custom radiator to go along with this setup.

    • Motor: 12V brushless
    • Operating voltage: 9V to 15V DC
    • Max. current draw: 1.3 Amps
    • Pump type: Recirculating* Centrifugal
    • Drive: Magnetic - no seals
    • Operating temperatures: -10?F to +250?F
    • Burst Pressure: 36 PSI
    • Flow Rate: 4 gal./min. @ 10 KPa
    • Weight: .54 lbs.
