I love those bikes. Especially the super-future-y front ends. Don't listen when the guys tell you that you could have a used gen2 for the price of the swingarm and tail section.

I'm not saying I don't want a Gen2. There are just so many things you can do with almost 30 years of ideas out there. Anything is possible with enough money. I do wish there was a reasonable EFI solution (price and function), but part of loving the Gen1 is knowing that you could have to completely tear down your carbs at any moment.

I wonder what is the estimated cost on going to EFI

Not cheap. BUT, if you are still interested in the 1500 chaindrive I have the wild brothers 45mm setup I'd sell with the deal!

Well better get started on your research, times wasting.

WOW! Those are some SICK bikes. I will be eagerly awaiting to see what you do with your own machine. I cannot imagine it would be good for any long distance rides, looking at the machines you attached, but I bet it would be FUN AS HELL!

I have a few ideas floating around inside my head for a solution. The new CTX1300 uses four 34mm throttle bodies, and I bet a way could be made up to mount them to a Venture intake. (or even the stock 1st gen Max intake if you want the V-boost) It would be good for those who would want stock or so power levels. If you want to go all power, bumping up to the 40mm ones pirated from a pair of NT-700's might work.

Either way, if you could get a Powercommander V thats blank to allow you to program the curves yourself, and then use the available auto-tune feature, I think it would be workable.

They say that you would have to have a cam position sensor to time it all, but why can't it be timed off the pulse generator?

The throttle bodies aren't the issue. Getting all the electrical to work with the odd fire is the issue.

You can use the newer microsquirts I think as well as another that I can't remember the brand of. You'll need to add in a cam sensor or other sensor as the stock flywheel pickup points are not good enough from what I am told.

I need to look a lot more into this... SOMEONE needs to develop a decent EFI for these bikes... Or, better yet, two different types, depending on how you want your bike lol
