what do the carbs look like when they r actually working? i had the air-box off the other day 2 clean the bike properly, and started the bike up 2 look thing over and looking into the carbs from the top they werent moving much (on idol) even when i turned the accelerator they didnt do much, i thought the inside (the diaphragm and piston?) moved alot? or am i being really really thick? have tryed

At idle the slides do not move. When you crack the throttle, engine vacuum will draw the slide into the carb. However, its not a fluid motion. The slide vibrates with every intake pulse. Its also not very pronounced at idle because it relies on engine load as well.
