Hey there everyone! Okay so I just installed Racetech 1.0 springs on my 06 Max. The first thing I noticed was that the new Racetech springs are about 3 inches shorter than the stock springs. ( But a heaver wire ) So then I cut the 22 inch aluminum spacer tube in half to 11 inches each. Which from early posts on here, makes it sound like this would be to stiff. But for some reason the forks still seem a bit spongy. Does this sound right? Thanks

You have to determine the proper sag for your suspension before you cut the spacer. It sounds like your sag is not set properly. Also how much and what weight oil did you put in?

Well, I just took out the old springs and put in the new springs. I did not add or change the fork oil since the bike only has 3500 miles on it. I did remove the forks from the triple trees to do this. As for the sag, I just followed the Racetech directions with the 5/8" to 1 1/4" preload.:ummm: Dont get me wrong, I'm not an idiot, just more familiar with dirt bikes. And again thanks for all the help.

How far into the tube did you have to push the springs to get the caps screwed on?
Waht weight oil did you put in?

About 1.5 - 1.75 inches.

The air seems a little funny for me though. With the moto forks we add air bleeders to drain any built up air pressure that builds up during riding to eliminate blowing out the seals. :ummm: And I wasn't sure if the oil level changed much since I replaced the old spring with a heaver volume spring.
