Same. Sometimes this site is loading like dial up...I can take a bathroom break and not miss anything.:rofl_200:

It works that way with me sometimes....I shut the whole system down, including the modem & monitor, come back in an hour or so, start everything back up and the site works fine.

Also, this is the only site in my favorites that slows down, the others never do.

I talked to Buster about it but we (well, he) had no idea why it does that.

ive also thought thise site bogs sometimes but i never wanted to say anything

Never a problem here:confused2: It loads fast and keeps up good :ummm: Might be all those porn sites dragging you system down :surf: :buttsexor: :th_love031: :jerk it:

I have no issues with speed here, I 'm on cable modem with 8 mb service (Charter/ speed test shows that I have 18.46 mb) but while it's not absolutely required rebooting your cable modem can help, as can restarting your computer/ router (if using one) at least weekly. Here is a link to Microsoft's recommendations to keep the speed of a windows based machine: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx

Sometimes the site bogs down a bit for me, but generally it's fine. If you don't already use it, get Firefox and lose internet explorer.

For those of you who use firefox, here's a couple tweaks you can make that should make everything faster.

First in the address bar, type in "about:config" without the quotes. It'll ask you if you're sure and these are for advanced users only, continue.

Scroll down until you find "network.http.pipelining". Set the boolean value to 1 (true)
Then find "network.http.proxy.pipelining". Set it's value to 1 (true).
Now find "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests". Pick some number, say 10. This enables firefox to put 10 seperate requests for the page in at once, and in theory load it 10 times faster. While that doesn't really happen, it usually does speed things up considerably. Setting it to a stupid high number (like 100) can sometimes screw up lower capactiy websites, and it won't really give you any extra speed.

Right-click anywhere and pick "new....integer". Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" (without quotes), and set it's value to zero. This sets the time firefox "waits" to act on received information. Zero will speed things up but potentially use more resources, so if your computer is really old/weak maybe skip this one.

What Ra said is true. If you are using Internet Explorer, it takes forever. Switch to Mozilla Firefox and it will drastically speed things up. Why?...I have no clue:)

thank you to Rawarrior for the tweaks. its made a difference on other sites, ive never had issue on this one but thanks.

+1

I like Firefox, but lately I've been using Google Chrome & it's fast too.

You want to really speed things up? Dump microsoft & use a linux based OS such as Ubuntu. Waaaay faster & no need for antivirus. (which can really slow down a computer) My son-in-law partitioned my hard drive & got me hooked on linux based systems. Just a thought...

I've tried Chrome, and while I agree it seemed generally a bit faster to load pages, IMO it lacked the "depth" FF has with virtually unlimited customizations. Didn't take me long to go back to FF.

I'd probably put linux on a netbook if I had one, but for my main computer (an enormous 17" gaming laptop that weighs about 50 pounds), Win 7 does everything I want/need it to at a perfectly acceptable speed. Plus, games and Linux don't really get along so well, so it would kind of defeat the purpose of a gaming computer.

:rofl_200:if its boging a bit doesnt that mean its got good traction lol :biglaugh: just my two cents no troubles here.:punk:start hole shot in 1st gear wont bog so bad ....................

...........................................................2nd is for me chrome is good too

so many factors when speaking about website speed.
It could come from the website, your provider, routing, DNS resolutions, ur browser, ur computer, etc ...

Going to Linux won't make it faster unless u're using an old computer.
Windows basically request a better hardware to run smoothly.

I compared Chrome on Linux and windows 7, I have to say it's better on windows 7 but the performances of my 2 laptops are completely different. I guess it will have been the same performance if the specs were the same.
Last versions of Ubuntu or Windows are nice and very friendly.

As an advice, what ever you're using don't install craps on your computer, avoid the add-on as much as you can. Why computers are faster when freshly installed ...
